Douglass Hillman, 73, passed away Sun. May 29, 2016 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. June 3, 2016 from 12pm-1:45pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Memorial Services are 2pm on Fri. June 3, 2016 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Hillman was employed by Moses Electric Service as a commercial and industrial electrician for over 30 years before going into business for himself. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed building custom guns as a hobby. Mr. Hillman also loved gardening and growing vegetables for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rita B. Hillman; two children, Lori H. Ates (Randy) and Douglas C. Hillman (Tara); four grandchildren, Douglas J. Hillman (Joanna), Jenna Hillman, Kasy Ates and Ridge Ates; two great grandchildren, Rachael Hillman and Thomas Hillman; sister, Margie Vaughan (Tommy); brother, Michael L. Hillman and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hillman is preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Hillman; sister, Sue Smith and a brother, Gordon Hillman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 1900 Dunbarton St. Jackson, MS 39216 or the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital at 2500 N. State St. Jackson, MS 39216.
