Douglas Viola Lum, 89, a resident of Morton died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Hospice In His Hands in Madden. Funeral services were held 10 am Monday, April 19, 2010 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Goodhope Cemetery in Leake Co. Visitation was held 2-8 pm Sunday, April 18 at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Joe Burgess officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Lum was a native of Leake Co. She was the daughter of Elmer and Mary Fletcher Moss. She was a member of Leesburg Baptist Church. Mrs. Lum loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Lum was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Fletcher Moss, husbands, Willie James Stewart, Walter Parker and Gilbert Lum, son, John Elmer Stewart, siblings, Eugene Moss, Bennie Stewart, Olaf Moss, Bessie Grice, Kirby Lee Moss, Jessie Bell Lewis, Wilson Moss and John Robert Moss.
Mrs. Lum is survived by her children, Ruby Lee (Troy) Sessums of Lena, Buddy (Sue) Stewart of Lena, Billy Lee (Sarah) Stewart of Pelahatchie, Mary Helen Patterson of Walnut Grove, Lanette Presley of Morton and Bobby Earl (Nita) Stewart of Pelahatchie; sisters, Mildred (Howard) Freeny of Freeny and Ermie Lee Federick of Florence; brother, H.F. (Elizabeth) Moss of Carthage; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Anthony Trippe, Richard Prestage, Wayne Prestage, John Stewart, Bubba Stewart and Daniel Jones.
Honorary Pallbearers were Micheal Stewart, Ty Stewart, D.J. Monk, Mason Sugg, Cody Jackson and Chris Stewart.
