Doyle E. GoodwinBrandonDoyle Edwin Goodwin, 67, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. He was born on April 29, 1945 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to Opal Goodwin and the late Floyd Goodwin.
For most of his life, Doyle performed electrical work for various companies. He retired from the Mississippi Agricultural Museum in 2008. He had a passion for flowers and gardening—especially day lilies of all colors that he pollenated himself. He shared his lilies with friends and family all over Mississippi. His two prized possessions were his Rottweiler, Katie, and his Toyota truck.
Doyle is survived by his wife of 46 years, Winnie Wells Goodwin; a daughter, Amanda Graham; and three grandsons, Justin Graham, Collin Cloninger, and Hayden Cloninger, all of Brandon. He is also survived by his 91 year old mother, Opal B. Goodwin of Water Valley; his sisters, Betty Segler of Poplarville, Stella Stewart and Brenda Kay Goodwin of Water Valley; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Goodwin; brother Thomas, and sister Jewel Burk.
Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Crossview Baptist Church, 687 Burnham Rd, Brandon, MS 49042, or to a charity of your choice.
