Dr. Allen “Cotton” Pryor
Dr. Allen “Cotton” Pryor, age 93. a resident of Pulaski, passed away Sunday January 2, 2011 at Regency Hospital in Jackson following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Tuesday January 4, 2011 from the Homewood United Methodist Church with interment following at the Homewood United Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Eugene Banes and Rev. Jerry Barnes officiated the services.
Allen was born on September 21, 1917 to William Clifton Pryor and Mattie Moore Pryor in Scott County. He was a well known educator in this area, as well as in north Mississippi where he retired from the Lee County High School in 1979. He was member of the Homewood United Methodist Church.
Dr. Pryor was preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers, Jack Pryor, Jim Pryor, Cliff Pryor, Jr. Waldo Pryor and Lewis Pryor. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Alma Parkman, Emma Barnes and Luna Craig.
He is survived by his wife Imogene Husband Pryor of Pulaski, and two children, Sandra Chisholm and her husband David of Mize, Ms and Gary Allen Pryor of Pulaski, Ms., one sister, Martha Alford of Forest, Ms., and on grand daughter, Leah Craft, and a great grandson Jesse Craft both of Mize, Ms.
Pallbearers were Bobby Alford, Ronnie Hallman, Chris Tadlock, Robert Hallman, Bob Tadlock, Kirby Moore, Bobby Paul Tadlock, Woody Burt, and Coley Harold Boykin.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest was in charge of arrangements.
