VISITATION: 3-5 PM SUNDAY AT OTT AND LEE IN BRANDON
Dr. Charles Edward Felder,82, former Mississippi educator, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 3-5 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Monday at Felder Campground Methodist Church Cemetery in Pike County, Mississippi.
Dr. Felder was born October 8, 1932 in Pike County to Edward S. Felder and Carrie Mae Spence Felder. He was a retired educator whose 54 years of experience included assignments as a teacher, coach, school counselor, elementary school principal, junior high principal, high school principal and college professor in public school in Walthall County, Hinds County, Copiah County, as well as Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. Dr. Felder graduated from Carter’s Creek High School, Southwest Mississippi Junior College, Mississippi College, and the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned a Doctor of Education Degree in School Administration.
He was an active member of a number of civic clubs, professional organizations, served in the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1959 and was currently a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Rickie Felder and Kim Diehl Felder; two grandchildren, Kerri Olivia Felder and Alex Wesley Felder all of Rankin County, Mississippi; brother, Carl Bryant Felder of Pike County, Mississippi.
