Dr. John Mann Jr.

Dr. John Evans Mann Jr., 82, a resident of Brandon, MS, passed away on Tues. July 5, 2022 at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. July 8, 2022 from 12pm-1:45pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Memorial Services are 2pm on Fri. July 8, 2022 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS.

John grew up in Baird, MS, and attended Inverness High School.  He continued his education at Mississippi State University, Delta State, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he graduated in 1966.  He practiced family medicine for 52 years in South Jackson, Culbertson, MT, Meridian and Philadelphia.  After retiring in 2018, he moved to Brandon to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren.

Other than his passion for medicine, John loved to hunt, fish, golf with his friends and spend time with his family.  He touched many lives during his life, and he will be greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by his daughter, Mandy Mann Oliphant (Shawn); son, Karl Evans Mann (Steve Kahn); two grandchildren, Caroline Oliphant and John Michael Oliphant; brother, James Al Mann and two nieces, Holly Holland and Bailey Holland (Aleia Dye-Holland). John is also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Cole and three nephews, Bill Holland, John Mann Holland and Jim Tom Cole.
