Dr. Willis Usry

Dr. Willis Buford Usry, 95 passed away at home on May 1, 2021. Dr. Usry was born September 4, 1925, in Yalobusha County, MS. To his late parents Willis and Sallie Usry.

He was proud to have served as a Marine in World War II and fought in the battle of Iwo Jima and earned a Purple Heart. He was a working member of the Iwo Jima Survivors Association.

He is survived by Delores his wife of 78 years, three daughters, Yvonne Blaylock (William), Connie Porter (Bobby), and Cindy Mason (Joe), 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, his brother Curtis Usry, and preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

A private graveside service will be held at the MS Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS.
