DWAYNE MCDONALD
FOREST, MS
Mr. Harlan Dwayne McDonald, age 51, a resident of Forest went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 10, 2011 at his residence. Visitation was held 4pm-until on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from the Kalem United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held 10am Thursday, October 13, 2011 from the Kalem United Methodist Church with burial in the Clifton Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Art Kinstley and Dr. Wallace Cason officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Dwayne was born in Rankin County in 1960. He loved watching all kinds of sports, but his favorite college team was Ole Miss and he could be seen on the side lines supporting the Morton Panthers until his health failed. Dwayne had a very kind heart and even though he had health problems of his own he always wanted to be helping someone else. One of his favorite things to do was to eat watermelon with his daughter Mandie and to spend quality time with his son, Chris. Dwayne loved his family very much and his dog, Sugarbaby. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Claudie Dee McDonald and sister, Betty Sue McDonald Bullard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Nettie McDonald of Forest; mother, Lois McDonald of Forest; daughter, Mandie McDonald and her fiancé, Jesse Engle of Forest; son, Chris McDonald of Forest; adopted daughters, Kathy Leuthold (Paul) of Crystal Springs and Mary Jo Whitling of Newton; sister, Seglenda McDonald Ellis of Forest; brother, Mike McDonald of Forest; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Ruthie Thomas of Morton; care giver, David Lee Prestage of Morton, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as active pallbearers were Bubba Coley, Thomas Coley, Mike Crawford, Tony Hines, Tyler Hines, David Harrison, Sjohn Bullard and Kenny McDonald. Honorary pallbearers were Wade Overstreet, Bobby Porter, Truitt Sullivan, Jimmy Dale Coward, Jesse Engle, David Lee Prestage, Larry Waggoner, Mr. Jack Thomas, Paul Leuthold, Sammie Freeman, Franklin Johnson, Wayne Ellis, Brandon Bagwell, Jessie Prestage and Greg Walker.
Donations may be made to the family with help of the funeral expenses.
