Edgar Oliver Harding, 98, went home to his lord and savior on Monday, September 27, 2021, at his home with family by his side. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 26, 1923. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Bobbie Ellzey Harding.
Visitation will be held at Brandon First United Methodist Church, Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. A celebration of life service will follow at 3:30 p.m.
Ed was a humble and gracious southern gentleman. He was a devoted husband and a Godly role model for all. He retired from AT&T/Bellsouth where he was a communication engineer. He also served in the United States Air Force.
He was a longtime member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS and served in many roles. He is currently a member of Brandon United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Ed enjoyed wood working, traveling, line dancing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, William LeRoy Harding (Bobbi) of Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Dwight Edgar Harding (Kay) of Starkville, MS, Darlene Harding Epple (Richard) of Pearl, MS and Theresa Harding Reno (Steve) of Byram, MS; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchilden and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brandon First United Methodist Church, Music Ministries, 205 Mary Ann Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
