Edna Mae Black, age 87, a lifelong resident of Pulaski, died Saturday May 12, 2012 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3pm Monday May 14, 2012 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in the Lingle Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Sunday May 13, 2012 and again Monday May 14th from 9am -3pm. Rev. Rob Webb will officiate.
Mrs. Black had worked for the Thomas Great M Store in Forest for many years prior to retirement. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Black was a member of the Christian Life Church. She was a woman of great faith, and will be missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Powell and Ida Beatty Powell, her husband J.B. Black, two sons, Sammy Dale Black and William Rusty Black and three brothers, Arthur Powell, Dennis Clee Powell and Maxie Ray Powell.
Mrs. Black is survived by a daughter, Linda K. Moore and husband Prentiss Wayne Moore, and a brother Billy Joe Powell all of Pulaski. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are; Alan Powell, Ashley Powell, Eric Powell, Ken Powell, James Lynn Risher and Jimmy Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Marty Black and Roger Lynn Guy.
