Edsell Parks

Edsell Zane Parks, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died peacefully at home on July 22, 2020. He had just celebrated his 88th birthday on July 4th.

Edsell was born in Winston County, MS on July 4th, 1932. He graduated from Bond High School, served in the US Air Force in Ramstein, Germany, and married Laverne Stevenson on August 31, 1956. He was a loving husband to Laverne for 63 years. He was a long-time employee of Southern Natural Gas Company. Edsell was Deacon Emeritus at Brandon Presbyterian Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne Stevenson Parks; his children, Kim Duhs (Lindsey), and Tim Parks (Stephanie); four grandchildren, Reverend Seth Duhs (Roberta), Carlee Duhs, Zane Parks, and Colin Parks; and two great-grandchildren, Vivian Duhs and Iris Duhs.
