Edward Floyd Ealy, 90 passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at MS State Veterans Home in Jackson, MS with his family by his side. A graveside service will be announced by the family during the summer 2014, at which time Ed and his wife Edy’s cremains will be interred in the family plot in The Beaver Cemetery in Beaver, PA.
Ed was born June 11, 1923 in Graysville, PA, the son of the late Havley Floyd Ealy and Jessie Pearl McGlumphy Ealy. He had been a resident of Brighton Twp, Beaver, PA since 1954, living in Mississippi for only a short while. Ed worked for the United States Steel, Western Southern Insurance and Stone and Webster in accounting for many years. He was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church in Beaver, a proud veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served as a pilot during World War II and enjoyed playing golf with his friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Ethyl ‘Edy’ M. Ealy. They raised two sons, Richard and wife Susan Ealy of Brandon, MS and Bruce E. Ealy of Ridgeland, MS. They had two grandchildren, Kristin and husband Jamie Willis of Eastville, VA and Richard M. Ealy of North Las Vegas, NV, and then two great-grandsons, Weyland O. Willis, VA, and Hayden M. Ealy, NV/MT. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Gamble of Cambridge Springs, PA.
Also preceding him in death besides his parents and sister, Jane Lindsey and brother, Morford Ealy, was a son, Douglas E. Ealy, who passed away while serving in the U. S. Navy on May 10, 1988.
