Edward Jussely

Edward Armstrong Jussely, Jr., of Brandon, MS, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017.

Edd was born on August 27, 1946 to the late Rev. Edward and Winnie Jussely of Hattiesburg. He graduated from Hattiesburg High School and attended USM in the school of journalism and communication. Edd remained an avid Golden Eagle fan throughout his life.

He began his career in public relations and communication at the age of 13, working for WBKH radio in Hattiesburg. That beginning led to a career in television broadcasting and newspaper writing. He also served as the public relations and affairs spokesperson for MS Highway Safety Patrol and MP&L (Entergy). Edd was privileged to spend several years as the press secretary for Senator John C. Stennis and was a member of the MS National Guard.

Added to Edd’s interest in radio, television, newspaper, and public broadcasting was acting in Little Theater plays. His favorite role was performing as Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. In his later years he added acting in a film to his list.

Edd was a faithful member of Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Flowood.

Edd’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Gail McCoy Jussely, of Brandon, MS, daughter, Kristy Partrick of Madison, MS, son, Eddie Jussely and his wife Yai of Lake Park, GA, his other son Glenn Partrick of Madison, MS, and his beloved granddaughters, Nicole Partrick and Morgan Partrick. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. David Jussely and his wife Andrea of Hattiesburg, MS and their children and grandchildren, his brother Dr. Steve Jussely and his wife Carol of Brandon, MS and their children.

Visitation will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS on March 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment service will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Hattiesburg on March 21st at 11:30 am followed by a visitation for family and friends in the fellowship hall at Bay Street Presbyterian Church from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
