Edward Charles Jones, age 81, passed away December 31, 2014. He was born February 21, 1933 in Franklin County, Ms. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend to all who knew him.
He was a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Master’s Degree in Agriculture. He retired from the Federal Land Bank where he was a Real Estate Appraiser and Loan Analyst.
He served the Lord as a Deacon for many years at Mount Gilead Primitive Baptist Church in Franklin County, MS and Grace Primitive Baptist Church in Pearl, Ms. He also served as Governor of the Lions Club in Brandon, MS
Edward served his country as a Military Policeman in the 101st Airborne.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Nordan Jones and his parents, Ernest Marion Jones Sr. and Mary V. Jetmore Jones.
Survivors include his two sons, Winston E. Jones and his wife Sandra Lavender Jones of Bentonia, MS, Terry Anglo Jones and his wife Patricia Fortenberry Jones of Brandon, MS. His grandsons, Winston E. Jones, Jr., Edward Ramsey III, Charles Jacob Ramsey, William Jesse Zea and one granddaughter, Jordan Renae Zea, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is also survived by three brothers, Ernest Marion Jones, Jr, Norman Ray Jones, Bobby Joe Jones, and one sister Merry Joyce Byrd.
Services: 5-8pm visitation Friday, January 2nd, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 3rd, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Primitive Baptist Church, 349 Crosspark Drive, Pearl, MS 39208. Memorials may be sent here as well.
