Edwin Earl Ragan, better known to all as Cowboy, was a lifelong resident of Pelahatchie. He found the love of his life in a young lady from Neshoba county, Mary Savell and they were married in June of 1961. They went on to raise three boys on Ragan Road in Pelahatchie – Robert, Mark and Chad.
Cowboy was a genuine and generous friend. He would do anything for anybody. He loved his family and enjoyed being a practical joker. When it came to family get togethers, he was the take charge kind and loved being in charge of the cooking. He also loved hunting and fishing.
Cowboy was a hard worker until his health didn’t allow him to continue. He logged the majority of his life. He taught his boys how to be hard working as well.
His is proceeded death by his wife Mary Ragan, son Robert Ragan, and great granddaughter, Chloe Haven, sisters Nell Phillips, Ruby Tyson, Louise Fulghum, Joann Leach, Sylvia Ragan, and Sue Thomas. Cowboy is survived by: Sister Helen Richburg, brother John Paul Ragan, two sons, Mark Ragan (wife Sylvia) of Pelahatchie, and Chad Ragan (wife Ashli) of Morton, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
