Effie Berneice Harvey Williams

Effie Berneice Harvey Williams, age 91, a resident of Morton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton.  Her visitation will be held 12:30pm-2pm Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Chapel service will be held 2pm Thursday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton.  There will be NO graveside service due to the heat, and burial will be in Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton is honored to serve the Williams family.

Effie was born in Ludlow, MS on January 17, 1933.  She loved her dog and her passion was working and helping others.  Effie was a nurse at Scott Regional Hospital, Morton Nursing Home and Clark Clinic.  Even as a resident at MS Care Center she would like to tell the nurses how she thought things should be done and she could be seen sitting in her wheelchair by the nurses station which made her feel like she was still involved with helping others.  Her nurses oath meant so much to her and her caring heart will never be forgotten by the patients she touched.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Josh Williams; son, Jimmy Williams; parents, Earl Harvey and Mildred Nutt Harvey and siblings, Edna, Dorothy Jean and Earline.

She is survived by one grandchild; 4 great grandchildren and many friends.
