Elena Del Valle Lampkin, age 64, a resident of Morton passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Her visitation was held 5-9pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service was held 2pm Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton. Rev. Bobby Tagert officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Elena was born in Salta, Argentina. She loved cooking, gardening and reading. Elena also enjoyed camping and traveling. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Alberto Melo.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Lampkin of Morton; 2 children, Nicolas Guillermo Donnelly (Soledad Loureiro) and Soraya Beatriz Donnelly (Carlos Castro); mother, Modesta Martinez; sister, Graciela Ester Melo (Ricardo Saenz Buruaga); 4 grandchildren, Malena and Manuel Donnelly and Federico and Guadalupe Castro; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Ellaweeze Lampkin; sister-in-law, Leann Dennis (Scott); brother-in-law, Steve Lampkin (Susan) and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Steve Lampkin, Randy Shoemaker, Corey Shoemaker, Mark Davis, Mark Lampkin and Derek Smith.
The family of Elena wishes to thank William J. Lampkin, their son-in-law, for the care and love that he gave to their daughter. They also want him to know that he is a part of their family. Elena was a good daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother whom they loved with all their heart. She will be greatly missed by them.
