(Beth), 63, of Mt Sterling, KY passed away in her home
Saturday, May 19th after a
year long battle with Lymphoma. Beth was born in Jackson, MS, to the late Joseph Elton and Teresa Weisenberger Powell. She was preceded in death by her
brother, Donald Powell. She is survived by her husband, Frank Ellis, and brother, David Powell, along with her daughters, Missy (James) Swango of Mt. Sterling, KY,
Mandy (Chris) Blevins of Brandon, MS, Brooke (Paul) Chesteen of Puckett, MS and 7 grandchildren. Beth graduated from St.
Joseph High School in Jackson, MS. After marrying her husband of 42 years, they moved to Ramstein, Germany for 2 years then returned to Jackson, MS to start their family. Beth was an avid supporter of the band programs in multiple
schools, working fundraisers and planning many events and activities over the years. The last 5 years of her life
she spent in a small town in eastern Kentucky as co-owner with her oldest daughter, of a home based business, Prissy's Customized Gifts. In the few months
before her diagnosis, she worked alongside her husband in relief efforts for the victims of the devastating tornado in West Liberty, KY feeding workers as well
as victims of the storm. Visitation for Beth will be
at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS Friday, May 24 from 5 - 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Ott & Lee at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 25th with burial in Lakewood Memorial in Jackson, MS.
