Elizabeth “Libby” Lawrence passed away on October 19, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation was 4 pm until 7 pm Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Reverend Warren Coile and Jeff Nesbitt officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Lawrence was born in Three Notch, AL on January 22, 1934. She moved to Montgomery, AL at an early age. She graduated from Loretta High School in 1952, where she was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen. She attended Montevallo College and Auburn. She met her husband at Auburn and was married in 1956.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Irene Kirkland, sister Nanette O’Neal and daughter-in-law Kathy Lawrence. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Phil; daughter, Lisa (Chris) Feroben of Brandon; sons Richard Lawrence of Brandon, David (Patty) Lawrence of Brandon and Tommy (Gena) Lawrence of Pearl; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Warren Coile and Jeff Nesbitt at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Pallbearers were Patrick O’Neal, Michael O’Neal, Stephen Lawrence, Nicholas Lawrence, Donald Thurman, and Tim Grantham. Burial was in Floral Hills Cemetery in Pearl.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Jaquith Nursing Home for the loving and excellent care given to Libby during her stay there. They would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
