Elizabeth J. Thompson, 85, joined her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 08, 2017. Visitation will be 12 noon -2pm Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are at 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Rankin County on October 15, 1931. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Pearl, MS and was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Thompson in 2016; son, Michael Thompson; parents, Tate Fortenberry and Nadine Fitzhugh Fortenberry; and sisters, Ola Mae “Toni” Dyess and Janice Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter, Lydia Thompson Hampton (Clyde); brother, Tate Fortenberry, Jr. (Myrtle); grandchildren, Chad Hampton (Tiffany) and Ashley Hampton Rushing (Wesley); great grandchildren, Madison Rushing, Aubrey Rushing, Kate Hampton, and Jon-David Hampton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1900 Dunbarton, Jackson, MS 39216.
