Elizabeth Coleman Carter

February 1, 1921 — November 12, 2012

Family and friends will gather at
Lakeshore Baptist Church on Friday, November 16 at 11 AM to celebrate the
wonderful life of Elizabeth Coleman Carter. The Reverend William Smith
will officiate. A family grave side
service will be held Thursday, November 15 in Forest, Mississippi with Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest handling the grave side service.

Lib, as she was fondly known, was born on February 1, 1921 in Branch, Mississippi and passed away on Monday, November12, 2012. She was the only child born to Mary Ellie and Walter Edgar Coleman
and with her smiling blue eyes was always called "Baby".Elizabeth spent her childhood in
Mississippi attending Forest High School where she excelled  in track and basketball.  She attended MSCW and graduated from
Mississippi College.  In 1943, she
married her childhoold sweetheart, Hamlet Carter, and they began a lifetogether with his career in the US ARMY. 
She loved the military life and in 1966, when Ham retired, she began her early education teaching career in Monroe, LA. 
She was the director of Covenant Presbyterian Day School and remembered
many of her students until the end of life. 
She loved teaching children, being a homemaker, gardening and playing
bridge.

Lib was mother to four children,
Hamlet III(Buster), Edgar, Ellie and Nancy Bea.
 
She was an active member of Lakeshore Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years.  With God's grace she was truly a "Light unto the world" 
She was
preceded in death by her
beloved, Ham and one son, Buster.Survivors include her children, Edgar
C. Carter(Nancy), Ellie Carter M. John(Howard), Nancy Carter
Holloway(Don).  Her grandsons, Edwin S
Moberley(Courtney), R. Carter Moberley(Jennifer), Matthew Carter, Benjamin
Carter and Coleman Holloway.  One
granddaughter, Robin Nicole Holloway and three great grandchildren, Julia
Elizabeth Moberley, Luke Stuart Moberley, and Elle Julianne Moberley.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law
Sarah Carter S. Naugher of Pontotoc, Mississippi.Serving as pallbearers will be her
grandsons, Edwin, Carter, Matthew, Benjamin, and Coleman.There is no greater love than that of
a mother and our wonderful memories of her will live on in the next
generation. 

She will be deeply missed by
all of us.The family thanks the Deerfield
Nursing Center in Delhi, Louisiana for their loving care these past few
years.  Thank you, Queenie.
