Ella Mary Shepherd

Mrs. Ella M. Shepherd, a resident of Morton, passed away on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, at Scott Regional Hospital. She was born June 1st, 1938, to Dee Brown and Mary McLendon in Panola Mississippi. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30-2pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 in Pulaski Cemetery. Bro. Tal Vardaman will officiate. 

She has lived in the Morton community for most of her life and was Methodist by denomination. Mrs. Shepherd loved gardening, relaxing with a good book, watching her hummingbirds buzz about, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. 

Mrs. Shepherd is preceded in death by her parents, Dee Brown and Mary McLendon Brown; her loving husband, Mr. James Shepherd; her son, Jimmy Shepherd; her great granddaughter, Kristin Wallace; and her brother, Tommy D. Brown. 

She leaves behind four children, Suzanne Easterling (Randy), Sherry Wallace (Ken), Steve Shepherd (Jinna), and Stacey Shepherd; her sisters-in-law, Shirley Brown and Shirley Schwarz; eight grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Seth Shepherd, Scott Votaw, Ethan Shepherd, Richard Watkins, Dylan Morgan, Casey Easterling, Zach Wallace, and Dewayne Scott. 

Ronnie Shivers will be an honorary pallbearer.
