Mary Ellie Allen Denton, 79, passed away May 8, 2014, in Ridgeland, MS following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 10 at 3:00 at the Ott and Lee Chapel-Morton with Rev. Oscar McGough officiating. Interment will follow at Hodge Hill Cemetery in Morton. Visitation was held Friday May 9 from 5:00 until 8:00 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home.

Ellie was born October 28, 1934 to Herbert Leo Allen and Ollie Caroline Trest. She was a native of Leesburg and a lifelong resident of Rankin and Scott Counties except for a period of time in 1956-57 when she lived in Hawaii while her husband was stationed at Naval Station Pearl Harbor. She was a member of the Line Prairie Presbyterian Church in Morton.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, Cleo Tadlock, and her brother, Wayne Allen. She is survived by her husband, Austin Denton, of Pelahatchie, their daughter, Connie Jo Bradshaw, and her husband, Michael, of Pelahatchie, and several nieces and nephews.
Austin and Ellie enjoyed a lifetime of devotion to each other and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June.
Serving as pall bearers are Mike Allen, Clarke Denton, Dalton Denton, Robert Denton, Jesse Power, and Matt Seaney.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Ministries for the loving and compassionate care they administered during Mrs. Denton’s illness.
