Mr. Ellie Phillips Jr., age 63, a resident of Morton, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his residence. Visitation was held 5-9pm Monday, February 14, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral Services were held 2pm Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from the Springfield Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Marty Wilson and Rev. Glen Hayman officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Phillips has lived in the Morton area for 57 years. He loved to watch his son, Marty, race cars. Ellie was a mechanic and wrecker driver for many years. Mr. Phillips loved to ride his four wheeler and keep a watch on his cows. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellie Phillips Sr. and Avis Marie Sesson Phillips and sister-in-law, Glenda Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Measells Phillips of Morton; sons, Marty Phillips (Peggy) of Morton and Scott Phillips (Cathy) of Morton; brother, David Phillips of Forest; 3 grandchildren, Jeffery Phillips, Michaela Phillips and Jesse Phillips and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Marc Measells, Trey Morgan, Daniel Morgan, Chris Clark, Andy Griffin and Mark Torrence. Honorary pallbearers were Jeffery Phillips and Jesse Phillips.
