Ellis Lavoy Wilkinson, 94, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Merit Health Central in Jackson, MS. Funeral services are 11:00am Friday, October 2, 2015, at Antioch Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5-8:00pm Thursday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Ms. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Wilkinson was a leader whether it was at work or church. He earned your respect through his actions and calm demeanor more than his words.
He was born January 18, 1921 the oldest to John Perry Wilkinson and Euna Summers Wilkinson in the Antioch-Concord community.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Floyce Huff Wilkinson; daughters, Katherine Faye McIntyre and Billie Dean Wilkerson (infant); grandson, Leon Douglas McIntyre; brothers, Charles Elton Wilkinson, William Davis Wilkinson and Edward Buford Wilkinson; and sisters, Willie Mae Walker and Clara Nell Wilkinson.
Survivors include his daughter, Babs Wilkinson Carter (Les) of Brandon; son-in-law, Ethel Ray McIntyre of Brandon; brother, Johnnie Perry Wilkinson of Pelahatchie; sister, Jessie Huff Burnham of Pelahatchie; 5 grandchildren, Todd McIntyre of Brandon, Angie Haskins (Thad) of Brandon, Brandi Smith (Jamie) of Brandon, Chuck Carter of Atlanta, GA and Chance Carter (Chrysler) of Brandon; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
