Elma Ailene Tolbert Jones
Elma Ailene Tolbert Jones, age 98, a resident of Forest, Ms., passed away Tuesday June 14, 2011 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton, Ms., following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Thursday June 16, 2011 from the Ephesus Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 12:30pm till 2pm at Ephesus Baptist Church. Rev. Hack McMullen, Dr. Kevin Jones and Dr. Jim Everett officiated the services.
Mrs. Jones was born on November 25, 1912 to George Tolbert and Betty Curtiss Tolbert in Sebastopol, Ms. She grew up in the Scott County area, later worked as a clerk at the Thomas Great M Store in Forest for many years. She was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church.
She was married to Huston Jones who preceded her in death as well as her parents.
She is survived by two children Virgil Jones and wife Sue, and Keith Jones and wife Sandra, all of Forest. Mrs. Jones also leaves a legacy of five grandchildren Jimmy Jones, Caroline Gatling, Sharmon Wichman, Kevin Jones and Libby Morgan.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Jones, Jody Gatling, Jamie Jones, John Wichman, Kevin Jones, and Jason Morgan.
Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
