Elouise Dickerson Brown, 75, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at Hospice Ministries, Inc in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be 5 pm untl 8 pm today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland and starting 9 am on Thursday with a chapel service at 10 am at the funeral home. A service will be held 2 pm Thursday at Macedonia Methodist Church in Attala County with graveside following. Visitation will begin at 1 pm in the church.
Mrs. Elouise graduated from Kosciusko in 1955. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Florence and enjoyed gardening. She was a long time employee of the Clarion Ledger, later working for the State of Mississippi for several years. Then she began working at First Magnolia Savings and Loan for a number of years, and later becoming Kelly Dabbs’s personal secretary at Kelly Dabbs Realty.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007, of 51 years, Mike Brown and sisters, Maxine Byrd and Joyce D. Alexander.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Brown Townsend and husband Joe of Forest; son, Von Brown and wife Mia of Richland; grandchildren, Joe L. Townsend, Jr. of Jackson and Max Brown of Richland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
