Elton Anderson

Elton Hays Anderson, 73, passed away Mon. Jan. 11, 2021 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS handled arrangements.

Mr. Anderson was born on Sept. 9, 1947 in Brandon, MS to the late James Walter Anderson Sr. and Margie Myers Anderson. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Anderson was a member of Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, MS where he served as a deacon, played in the orchestra and sang in the choir. He also served as the music director for over 30 years at Pine Springs Baptist Church in Tyler, TX.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Mollie Anderson; three children, Danni Michelle Thompson (Dennis), Gary Dean Anderson (Kalei) and Greg Walter Anderson (Melissa Livingston); two sisters, Barbara Colson (Shelby) and Maxine Nolen (Aubrey); two brothers, Jerry Anderson and Roland Anderson (June); six grandchildren, Taylor Hermann (Kaitlyn), Austin Herman (Emily), Nick Thompson, Ashlynn Anderson (Eric Mirfield), Jacob Anderson (Shelby) and Heather Anderson; one great grandchild, Parker Anderson and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund at 100 Brandon Baptist Dr. Brandon, MS 39042.
