Emma L. Cross

Emma Renfroe Cross, 87 passed away at St. Dominic’s hospital in Jackson, Mississippi on March 4, 2025 surrounded by the loves of her life.

She was born on February 17, 1938 to Richmond and Maggie Harrell Renfroe. Emma lived most of her life in the Rehobeth community where she was a lifelong faithful member of Rehobeth Baptist Church where she could be seen loving and praising the Lord whenever the doors were opened. Some may also remember her for the many years she worked at the Sandhill Post Office.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was kind, thoughtful, admired, adored and loved by so many. She was a fantastic cook who was known for her coconut pies. Emma was a beautiful person with a beautiful soul; a rare genuine jewel.

Preceded in death by her parents, one sister Ruby Smith, four brothers Max Logan, S O Renfroe, Richie Renfroe, and J C Renfroe as well as her dear friend Linda Shedd.

Emma is survived by her husband of 71 years Larry Cross, her three children Derrell Cross (Darlene), Pam Cross Lee (Butch), and Rusty Cross (Tanya Trawick), eight grandchildren Derrick Cross (Emily), Devin Cross Bobo, Thomas Lee (Lacey), Dallas Fairchild, Dylan Cross, Alex Lee, Nikki Lee, and Peyton Cross; seven great grandchildren Regan Bobo (Hunter Pigott), Tyler Bobo, Taelor Fairchild, Emma Claire Bobo, Sadie Fairchild, Kole Wade, and Quinn Lee also including longtime friends Helen Parker and Betty Lockhart as well as many precious nieces and nephews.
