Emma Ruth Pettigrew, age 89, died Tuesday December 6, 2011 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Thursday December 8, 2011 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Forest with interment in the Harperville Memorial Park. Visitation was held from 5pm to 8pm Wednesday December 7, 2011. Rev. Bobby Warren and Rev. Glenn Lafferty officiated the services.
Mrs. Pettigrew was born in Forest on December 30, 1921 to S.F. Ladd and Emma Cox Ladd. She was a member of the Harperville United Methodist Church, and was a homemaker. She was a wonderful person who was known by all who knew her as a cheerful, loving and caring individual.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Pettigrew is survived by three sons, Larry J. Pettigrew of Harperville, Gary Pettigrew (Glenda) of Forest, and Kenny Pettigrew (Neva Jo) of Decatur. She leaves a legacy of 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Johnny Pettigrew, Dillon Pettigrew, Danny Pettigrew, Johnny Ladd, Neil Pettigrew and Greg Pettigrew.
