Emmett Tynes, 95, passed away Tues. April 26, 2016 at the Brandon Court Nursing Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. April 29, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 1pm Sat. April 30, 2016 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Brandon Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Tynes was born in Poplarville, MS and has been a resident of Brandon, MS since 1998, after moving from Jackson, MS. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brandon, MS and was also a member of the Gideon’s and the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Tynes served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Soil Conservation Service after 32 years of service and then he worked in real estate as a hobby.
Mr. Tynes is survived by his two children, Zara White of Brandon, MS and E. J. Tynes (Klinner) of Brandon, MS; one grandchild, Brian Tynes of Montgomery, AL and one sister, Billie Lois Pierce of Long Beach, MS. He is preceded in death by his wife, Willodean Beckett Tynes; three sisters, Aileen Montgomery, Eunice Mitchell and Mary Esther Kite and two brothers, Dwight Tynes and J. S. Tynes.
