Ernest “Ernie” Walker, 71, passed away Mon. June 13, 2016 at the River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Visitation will be held on Thurs. June 16, 2016 from 10am until the 11am Memorial Service at First United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.
Mr. Walker was born in Greensburg, KY and has been a resident of Rankin County, MS for the past 28 years after moving from Jackson, MS. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS where he served in the Chancel Choir, was a member of the Journey Sunday School Class and was a proud mentor to the church youth. Mr. Walker was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and also enjoyed antique cars.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Pat Walker; two sons, Kelly Walker (Toni) and Randy Walker (Ginger); four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Arnold (Ryan), Alex Walker, Josh Bryant and Grant Taylor; a sister, Kay Frazier (Jeff) and a brother, Maurice Walker (Sandra). He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice Walker and a brother, Fred Walker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Brandon, MS at 205 Mary Ann Dr. Brandon, MS 39042 or to the American Cancer Society, Miss. Division INC at 1380 Livingston Lane Jackson, MS 39213.
