Ethel Todd Montgomery at 90 years of age went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2012. She was born in Donna, Texas to Huey Todd and Lee Jones Todd. She moved to New Albany, MS as a teen. She graduated from New Albany High School.

She married James Columbus Montgomery on January 8, 1941. James Huey Montgomery (Sandra) of Seattle, WA and Janet Montgomery Whitehead (Robert) of Brandon, MS were born of their union. There are four grandchildren: Bob Whitehead (Julie) and Becky W. Woods (Matt), both of Brandon, Angela Montgomery of Clawson, MI and Leslie Hommes (Dan) of Metamora, MI. There are thirteen great grandchildren: Terrie, Amber and Rachel Whitehead; Will, Alex and Jack Woods; Christina, Stephanie, Sarah, Joshua, Caleb, Hannah and Josiah Hommes.

She and her husband lived in Myrtle, Sherman, Byhalia and Brandon. They also lived for a short period in Millington, TN. She and her husband loved to travel. After his death, she continued to travel with her church group. She was a charter member of Brandon Baptist. For more than 60 years she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of several garden clubs including the Brandon Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, her parents and her sister, Edna Abernethy.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and granny. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be September 5, 2012 from 5PM to 8PM and September 6, 2012 from 10AM to 11AM at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon, MS. The funeral service will be at Ott and Lee Funeral Home on September 6, 2012 at 11AM. Burial will follow at Brandon Memorial Gardens.
