Etoile Rucker

Funeral services for Mrs. Etoile Rucker will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. from the Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Forest with Rev. Larry Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery at Lake. Music for the service will be provided by Bro. Tommy Anderson. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. – 11:45 A.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Rucker, age 74, a resident of Union, and a former resident of Newton and Lake, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at The Specialty Hospital in Meridian, a division of Rush Foundation Hospital. She was an accomplished artist, craft maker, and a retired bookkeeper. Mrs. Etoile was a member of Salem Baptist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. She was a devout Christian, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, G.T. “Bill” Rucker; one daughter: Teresa Russell; one son: Jimmy May; her parents: Noel and Maude Hollingsworth Everett and one sister: Jean Emmons. Survivors include one daughter: Dana Myatt of Forest; four grandchildren: Christy (Aaron) Brown of Hillsboro; Devon, Payne, and Alexis Myatt, all of Forest; two great-grandchildren: Memphis and Bishop Brown, both of Hillsboro; one step son: Larry (Julia) Rucker of Union; two step grandchildren: Jessica (Matthew) Higginbotham and Amanda (Travis) Bowden, both of Walker, LA; three step grandchildren: Clayton Rucker, Braden Higginbotham, and Olivia Daigle, all of Walker, LA; and two brothers: Leon (Myra) Everett of Lake and Paul (Virginia) Everett of Theodore, AL. Serving and honoring Mrs. Etoile as pallbearers are: Larry Rucker, Randy Emmons, Johnny Emmons, Timothy Emmons, Robert Everett, Blake Everett, and Danny Emmons. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International, Inc. or the Nursing Home MP3 Bible Project, 2970 Suqualena Meehan Rd., Meridian, MS 39307.
