Evelyn Allen

Evelyn Cliburn Thames Allen, 91, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Thursday, July 25, 2019 and from 12-2 pm Friday, July 26, 2019 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.

Mrs. Allen was a native of Lawrence County, Mississippi. She was born on May 10, 1928. She worked many years in nursing at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon, MS. She loved Nursing and helping people. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and being outdoors. She truly loved being with her family and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents,Carl and Willie Cliburn; daughter, Peggy Means; 1st husband, Gayle Thames; brother, Aubrey Cliburn; sisters, Jimmie Myers, Velma Chesboro and Verdie Mae Curtis.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Gerald Allen; son-in-law, Ronnie Means; sister, Nell Hill; brother, Hubert (Alice) Cliburn; grandchildren, Andrea (Marty) Morgan, Justin (Jill) Means and Tiffany Kim Means; great grandchildren, Benjamin Means, Olivia Morgan, Sadie Morgan, Julianne Morgan, Bryson Means and Abigail Means; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
