Evelyn Holmes

Evelyn Sistrunk Holmes, age 61, a resident of Forest, died Friday, February 7, 2020, at the S.E.  Lackey Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7pm Tuesday, February 11, 2020, from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral  Home in Forest.  Visitation will be held from 5pm till service time at the funeral home.  The final resting place will be in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Lena.

Mrs. Holmes was born on Sunday, October 5, 1958, in Morton, MS to her parents, Harvey Lee Sistrunk and Lois Virginia Monk Sistrunk.   She had worked for Peco Foods.  She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Lena.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She loved the outdoors and always enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing a laugh.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  and her husband, Bobby Holmes.

Survivors include her 4 children; Timmy Dennis (Crystal), Kathy Kyzar (John) all of Forest, Priscilla Holmes (Randall May) of Lake and Bobby Holmes of Lena.  She is also survived by 2 sisters; Nelda Elmore of Lake, Debbie Sanderson of Harperville, 2 brothers, Mark Sistrunk (Diane) of Forest and Johnny Ray Sistrunk (Carolyn) of Homewood.  She also leaves behind a legacy of 12 grandchildren.
