Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Baker Lewis will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 5, 2018 from the Leesburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Jon Marc Vanlandingham officiating.  Interment will follow in the Leesburg Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm  Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the funeral home and on Monday one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.

Evelyn Inez Lewis was born at Goshen Springs in Rankin County on December 8, 1931 to her parents: Albert Edward & Floda Evelyn Allen Baker, who precede her in death. She passed away at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the age of 86.

She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Rankin County. She loved her family very much; as quoted by one of her granddaughters who referenced her as “Maw” was the most wonderful gracious woman in the world who had a kind, gentle, and giving spirit. She will be missed by her family and friends but her legacy will be remembered for generations to come. She was Christian and enjoyed fellowship and membership with her church family at Leesburg Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Jimmie G. Lewis; her parents: Albert & Floda Baker; and two brothers: Charles Baker and Mack Baker.

Surivors include her children: Connie (Bobby) Saxton of Terry; Richard Lewis of Richton and Benjie (Darlene) Lewis of Pearl; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother: Albert Baker of Morton; one sister: Faye Bailey of Morton; one sister-in-law: Phoebe Baker of Sand Hill; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leesburg Baptist Church.
