Evelyn Weeks Pelahatchie Evelyn Weeks, age 88, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton. Visitation was held 9:30am – 1:30pm Friday, June 10, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Friday at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Holmes and Bro. Ted Weeks officated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Mrs. Weeks was born in Scott County on February 11, 1928. She loved to read and before her eye sight failed she read her Bible everyday. Evelyn enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard and loved to go fishing. She was youth director at Two Mile Baptist Church for many years and loved participating in all church activities. Evelyn loved her family very much and her grandchildren and great children and great great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Weeks; father, Arthur Beemon; mother, Laura Olivia White Beemon; 3 brothers, James, Deward and Tom Beemon. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Bynum (J.W.) of Pelahatchie and Douglas Weeks of Morton; 6 grandchildren, Ken Bynum (Donna), Jeannie Coleman (Curtis) , Joe Bynum (Brenda), Shelia Bowman (Frank), Kerri Vaught (Chris) and Brandy Redwine; 12 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; special friend; Dr. Howard Clark MD; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Ken Bynum, Joe Bynum, Curtis Coleman, Cameron Coleman, Mackenzie Woods and Brian Hall. The family wanted to give a special thank you to the staff of Mississippi Care Center of Morton and Home Care Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to their loved one. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Chilren Hospital.
