Mrs. Fannie Porter, age 76, a resident of Morton passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson.  Her visitation will be held 12-1:45pm Thursday, June 04, 2020 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday, June 04, 2020 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Goodwater Cemetery.  Bro. Miles Porter will officate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Porter was born in Smith County on April 11, 1944.  She loved working in the yard and watching her grandchildren play sports.  When the word  "GO"  was mentioned she was ready just to ride.  Fannie was a very independent, strong willed person.  She loved her cat Prissy.  Nobody ever had to wonder what she was thinking, she would always let everyone know.   She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Basel M. Porter; father, Otho Prentiss Bailey; mother, Bernice Laverne Bailey; maternal grandparents, Alonzo M & Flora Pricilla Bounds; paternal grandparents, Jessie N. & Sallie M. Bailey.

She is survived by her sons, Miles Porter (Wendy) of Morton and Pete Porter (Lesley) of Morton; grandchildren, Dustin Porter, Mary Frances Porter, Kelsey Wolfe (Keifer), Kyle Porter (Raven) and Easten Porter; great grandchildren, Zander Wolfe & Tylan Porter; step children, John & Rhonda Porter, Jason & Teresa Porter, Sidney & Richelle Porter, Sandra Joiner (Jim), Marsha & Jerry Henderson and Mary Evelyn Adair.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Hegwood, Richard Prestage, Billy Meeks, James Goss, Kyle Porter, Keifer Wolfe, Dustin Porter and Easton Porter.  Honorary pallbearers will be David Coward, Jimmy Brown, Jamie Johnson, Dr. Howard Clark (deceased) &  James Lee O'cain (deceased).

Memorials may be made in her honor to St. Judes or March of  Dimes.
