Fannie was called home Monday night, January 27, 2014 by her Lord and Savior.
She shared life with us for some 90 years since her first appearance on March 3, 1923.
We have been blessed by her journey with us, and she will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.

Even her name “Fannie” gave us a clue of what a unique character she would be. She was sturdy, attractive, fun loving, and possessed a dry wit unmatched by most people. One of her claims to fame was winning a $5 gold coin in the 5th grade for the highest average in the school. She amazed her class mates and teachers by reading books upside down and passed this way with hardly ever a negative word for anyone. Hurrah for you Fannie!

Fannie was one of (12) twelve born and raised in Byram, MS, to Neal Dillon and Florence Elise Riser Hollingsworth. Deceased siblings are brothers Robert Wallace, Neal, John, and Thomas Hollingsworth and sisters Polly H. Harris, Ann H. Baker, Rea H. Fulgham, Margaret H. Barber and surviving siblings: Jeanette H. Baker, Julius C. and Paul Hollingsworth.

Fannie met Luther Warren Rhodes from the Shiloh/Pelahatchie area on December 3, 1942 and married January 5, 1943. She always joked about how quickly things went back then. After 50 years of marriage, Luther died December 1993. Since moving to the Shiloh/Pelahatchie community in 1943 she has been an active member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Daughters are Carol R. Chancellor, deceased husband Homer and children; Yvonne,
Sheryl, and Angela and Dave Herbert, Diane R. Davis and husband Linn and children; Karen and Patrick Wofford, Dwayne and Jenny Davis, Donna R. Miller and husband Gene Jr. and children; Robbie Rhodes, Matthew and Evangeline Miller, Gene and Lauri Miller, and Christine Miller, and Vickie R. Buys, and husband Rusty and children; David and Katie Buys, and Stephen and Anna Buys. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation from 4-8 PM at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi on Thursday, January 30, 2014 and from 8:30 – 9:30 AM Friday January 31, 2014.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday January 31 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Pelahatchie, MS., with burial in the church cemetery.
