Mrs. Fannie Maude Shaw was born at Forkville, Scott County, Miss., September 18, 1928 to David and Henrietta Allen Shoemaker. She passed away May 16, 2020 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton, Miss. at the age of 91.
Graveside services were Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Antioch Steele Cemetery.
Rev. Joey Smith, her pastor and Rev. Tal Vardaman, Chaplain at Mississippi Care Center of Morton officiated the service. Music was provided by Mr. Billy McCurdy.
Serving as pallbearers were Chris Shaw, Brian Shaw, Kyle Thomas, Chris Hobkick, Wilbur McCurdy and John David Shoemaker.
She was a homemaker and a member of Steele Baptist Church. Favorite pass times were gardening and reading. She held a love in her heart for all animals, in particular her dogs, and her farm chickens. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Cleveland Shaw. Her parents and nine siblings precede her in death, Annie Mae Banks, Mary Coward, D.S. Shoemaker, Willie Shoemaker, all of Morton; Robert Shoemaker of Forest, Grover Shoemaker of Decatur, Nebra Dell McCurdy of Morton, James Bardin Shoemaker of Dallas, TX, and Jessie Shoemaker of Tallulah, LA.
Survivors include her children: Royce (Maggie) Shaw of Madison; Jeff (Carol) Shaw of Tampa, FL; Denise (Derwood) Hawkins of Forest and Melba (Eddie) Thomas of Brandon; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother: Caray Shoemaker of Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Steele Baptist Church Building Fund, 8977 Hwy. 21 N., Forest, MS 39074.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 295 East First St., Forest, served the Shaw family.
