FAYE GARDNER
Clara Faye Gardner, age 71, a lifelong resident of Forest, died Saturday January 7, 2012 at the Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Tuesday January 10, 2012 from the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 5pm to 8:30pm Monday January 9, 2012 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest and again Tuesday January 10, 2012 from 9am til 2pm at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Clark and Rev. Ed Knowles officiated the services.
Mrs. Gardner was born on January 30, 1940 in Rankin County to George Ivy and Leslie Davis Ivy. She had worked in the manufacturing industry and retired from Multicraft in 1999. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bruce Black, and a sister Barbara Franklin.
Mrs. Gardner is survived by her husband, Raven Gardner, two daughters ; Dollie Stagner and Sandra Wall all of Forest, three sisters; Betty Smith of Louisville, MS., Helen Parker (Billy) , Donnie Massey (Charles), a brother Billy Ivy (Kate) all of Pelahatchie. She also leaves behind a legacy of 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dudley Vincsent, Johnny Hill, Court Webb, James Stagner and George Anthony.
Honorary pallbearers were Thurman Posey, David Tadlock, Andy Gibbs and Tony Hill.
Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funerl Home of Forest.
