Forrest Howard Jones, 80, a resident of Yazoo City, MS died Tuesday, February 09, 2016 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. There will be a memorial service at a later time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Jones was a native of Swiftown, MS. He was the son of Miles Edward Jones and Elizabeth Inez McCoy Jones. He was married to Joyce Marie Brister Byrd Jones. Mr. Jones was a Chief Medical Technologist and served many years over seeing laboratories for the hospitals he’s worked for. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Miles Edward Jones and Elizabeth Inez McCoy Jones; sister, Patti Eddie Ailene Jones, his brother, Miles Monroe Jones, grandparents, Zachary and Willie McCoy and Edward Carradine and Julia Abby Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Marie Brister Byrd Jones; children, Curtis Jones of Yazoo City, Karen Farr of Madison, Kyle Jones of Yazoo City, Kevin (Melanie) Jones of Vicksburg and Bernie Lewis of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Raven Jones (Jared Nunes), Kaleb (Jessica) Jones, Nicholas Jones, Leighton Kelly (Rebekah Marrow), Brandon Farr, Justin Farr, Lauren Jones, Madison Jones and Jeremy Vardaman; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
