Frances Mapp, age 95, a resident of Forest died Friday January 27, 2017 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Monday, January 30, 2017 from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment to follow in the Eastern Cemetery. Rev. Trey Harper will officiate. Irene Martin, longtime friend of the family will provide music for the services. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm Sunday January 29, 2017 at the funeral home and again on Monday from 1pm-1:45pm prior to the service.
Mrs. Mapp was born in Scott County on Tuesday, April 12, 1921 to her parents William Easom Peek Jones, Sr. and Lucy Bernice Westberry Jones . She later married Raymond Lee Mapp. She worked at the Goodyear store in Forest for many years. She later owned and operated a flower shop, “This Old House” until she retired. She was member of the Forest United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Ima Jewel Rasco and Marie Tucker: brother; Ray Jones: son; Douglas Miles and her husband, Raymond Lee Mapp.
Survivors include her 2 daughters; Charlene M. Smith and husband Tommy, Beth M. Russell and husband Harold Leo Russell, Jr. all of Forest. She is also survived by a sister; Janelle Gallotte and her husband Larry of Gulfport, a brother; Bill Jones and his wife Janice of Lena. She leaves behind a legacy of 5 grandchildren; Justin Russell and wife Jessi, Rusty Russell, Dr. Clint Smith and wife Susan, Matt Smith and wife Jennifer, and Bobby Miles. She also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren; Jenni Kate Miles, Rowan Russell, Kalli Russell, Kaden Lee Russell, Turner Smith, Henry Smith, Madelyn Smith, Jackson Smith and Elle Smith.Pallbearers are Justin Russell, Rusty Russell, Dr. Clint Smith, Bobby Miles, Matt Smith and Rowan Russell.
