Frances Wilkes Parkman, 73, a resident of Morton died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at MS Care Center of Morton. Funeral services were held 10 am Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Roberts Cemetery in Smith Co. Visitation was held 5-9 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the funeral home. Rev. Keith Keeton and Rev. Gary Glazier officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Parkman was a native of Noxapater. She was the daughter of A. H. Wilkes, Sr. and Louise Chambliss Wilkes. She was married to John Mecklin Parkman, Jr. She was in the Poultry Industry for many years. Mrs. Parkman was Southern Baptist by faith. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. Her laughter was contagious and her generosity overflowed to everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Parkman was preceded in death by her parents, A. H. Wilkes, Sr. and Louise Chambliss Wilkes, brother, A. H. Wilkes, Jr., sister, Virginia Wilkes Alford and her husband, John Mecklin Parkman, Jr.
Mrs. Parkman is survived by her daughter, Lori Nail (Chris) of Pulaski; granddaughter, Johnna Claire Nail and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Lindsey Keeton, Kevin Keeton, Randy Easterling, Nathaniel Stewart, Jeff Loftin and Jimmy Laird.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the Morton United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
