Frank L. Griffin, 83, a resident of Morton died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services were held 11 am Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the First Pentecostal Church in Forest with burial in the Hodge Hill Cemetery in Morton. Visitation was held 4-9 pm Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10-11 am Tuesday at the First Pentecostal Church in Forest. Rev. Bill Pittman and Rev. Alan Hopkins officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton were in charge of arrangements. Mr. Griffin was a native of Leake Co. but has lived most of his life in Scott Co. He was the son of Lloyd Griffin and Molly White Griffin. He was married to Laverne Pope Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a Machine Operator by trade and was employed by Scott Co. for many years. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Forest were he enjoyed working for the Lord. Mr. Griffin loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Molly Griffin, brothers, Leon, Coyt, Herman, Percy, L.E. and Theo Griffin.Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Laverne Pope Griffin of Morton; sons, Jimmy (Debra) Griffin of Forest, Jerry (Gail) Griffin of Morton and Larry (Tina) Griffin of Morton; sisters, Helen Hardin of Bridge City, TX, Luna Ferrell of Morton, Velma Wilkenson of Conehatta and Lucille Stagg of Newton; 8 grandchildren , 6 great grandchildren many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.Serving as pallbearers were Randall Griffin, Wayne Griffin, James Cushman, Tommy Griffin, David Griffin and Travis Griffin.
