Frank Smith

August 17, 1933 — February 16, 2018

Henry Frank Smith was born in Sebastopol on  Thursday, August 17, 1933 and passed away on  Friday, February 16, 2018 at the age of 84.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, February 19, 2018  at the Morton Church of God with Bro. Randy Rigney and Bro. Tal Vardaman officiating. Interment will follow in the Morton Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the funeral home and from 10:00 am - 10:45 am  on Monday at the church prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Frank was a Christian who loved his church, Morton Church of God, and will be remembered for his visitation ministry for the sick and shut-ins and for sharing his faith in his personal transit ministry. A collector of Civil War artifacts, Mr. Smith enjoyed his hobby of using his metal detector to find historical items. He shared his personal creativity with others, as he was proud of the fact of his ability to make hand crafted knives. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed the relationship of his granddaughter, in particular. He served his country with honor and courage in the U.S. Army. His legacy of faith and service will live on for generations to come.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd & Lillie Pearl Foster Smith; one brother: Kermit Smith; one step-daughter: Sherry Sims.

Survivors include his wife of almost 39 years: Mrs. Ann Smith of Morton; two children: Hope (Mickey) Myers of Forest and Andy (Laura) Smith of Hernando; one step-daughter: Vicky (Reed) Rogers of Greenville, SC; one granddaughter: Mickenzie Myers of Forest; three step-grandchildren: Anna Rogers of Ashville, NC; Ryan Sims of Ridgeland; and Reed Rogers, Jr. of Columbia, SC; one sister: Etoyle Womack of Morton; one niece and one nephew.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Fortenberry, Reed Rogers, Reed Rogers, Jr., Ryan Sims, Ken Sims, and Tal Vardaman.
