Fred Don Tolleson, 100, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at home.   Visitation will be 4-8pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Graveside services are 1pm Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Rocky Point Baptist Cemetery in Leake County.

Mr. Tolleson attended Rocky Point Baptist Church.  He married Girdie Mangrum,  his first wife of 61 years in 1936, and they had three children together.   After the death of Mrs. Tolleson he later married Margie Owens in 1999.

Mr. Tolleson was a Mason and was inducted into the Plain Masonic Lodge on June 11, 1962.  A few years later he and a number of the other Masons formed The John P. Byrd Lodge of Pearl-Number 629.  He then moved his membership to the Pearl Lodge.  He was a 60 year plus member of the IBEW Local 480, and served 3 terms as Vice President, 2 terms as President and helped to organize Local 480 Retirement Club where he served the first 12 years as President.  Mr. Tolleson served 20 plus years on the Langford Assn. Board.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Owens Tolleson; daughter, Joyce T. Bowers (Jim) of Byram; son, James Don Tolleson of Royal Palm Beach, FL; step children, Robert Owens (Gerrolyn) of Brandon, Kaye Walde (Charlie) of Brandon and Donald Owens (Glenda Sue) of SC; sister, Mary Ruth Turesdale of Carthage; niece, Lynda Truesdale of Decatur; God daughter, Tara Blumenthal; grandchildren, Nicolle Tolleson, BJ Tolleson, Kelli Tolleson, Jack Owens, Kristin Owens, Becky (Phil) Cockrell, Donna McCarron, Bridgett and Russell Sullivan, Tiffany Owens, Stevie and Matt Robinson, Michelle Owens, and Scott and Beverly Owens; and a number of great grandchildren.
