VISITATION: 5-8 PM THURSDAY AT OTT AND LEE FUNERAL HOME IN BRANDON AND 2 PM FRIDAY AT THE CHURCH
Frederick Foley (Fred) Horne, 85, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at his residence. Visitation is 5-8 pm Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and 2 pm Friday at Gum Springs Baptist Church near Braxton. Services are Friday at 3 pm at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Horne was a native and lifelong resident of the Jackson area and has been a resident of Rankin County for the past ten years. He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church and was a World War II Navy Veteran. Mr. Horne retired as a service man for Mississippi Valley Gas in Jackson after many years of service. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Horne of Brandon; son, Greg Horne (Regina) of Byram; daughters, Mary Dickerson (Wayne) of Beaumont, TX; Sue Ammons (D. J.) of Murfreesboro, TN and Amanda Mitchell of Jackson; step daughters, Cindy Jones of Brandon and Paula White of Carthage; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren
