Fredin L. Ellis, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee. She was born in Mize, Mississippi to the late Julius and Mattie Ainsworth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Allie Wade, Bonnie Jean Ainsworth, Rachel Byrd, Claudie Turner, and Tommie Kirk; and two brothers, Udell Ainsworth and James Earl Ainsworth.

She was a member of Drakes Methodist Church in Flowood, Mississippi, where she served as church treasurer for many years. She was the widow of Thurman Ellis and had lived in Flowood most of her life before moving to Bristol, Tennessee.

Survivors include two daughters, Juliette Ellis Gilmore of Bristol, Tennessee and Jean Huff of Pearl, Mississippi; two brothers, W.R. "Buck" Ainsworth of Magee, Mississippi and John Q. Ainsworth of Braxton, Mississippi; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ellis had a fruitful life. She had a flair for all things creative. She and her late husband were instrumental in the development of the Fannin Road area known today as Flowood, Mississippi.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, April 17, 2010, in the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi. The committal service and interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Pearl, Mississippi. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be sent to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, Tennessee, 37620.

The family would like to thank our dearest friend, Ms. Shoma Hubbard and the Wellmont Hospice nurses and staff.
